I'm officially a country music fan.

I can't believe I just announced that.. =/

Yesterday I was riding around with my friend, David. As we were talking about different music genres, he hesitantly reached for the radio and turned up the volume. As I tuned into what was playing and heard a familiar country riff, I thought to myself, "Oh no, not another redneck tune about getting drunk and dirty". Next second, I found myself nodding my head to the melody of the song. When the song got to the chorus part, I was hooked. The melody and lyrics weren't bad and it sounded catchy, lol..

I know I live in Texas and most people get the perception.. Wait, lemme rephrase, 'close-minded people' get the perception that everyone in Texas favors country music, rides horses, and wears cowboy hats. Okay, maybe I make an exception for wearing the cowboy hat because I'm a whole different kind of breed.. But anyways.. I grew up in a large city where country is about as cool as the high school math club. Most people I know express a sigh of irritation whenever they hear country music.

As fate would have it, "Gimme that girl" by Joe Nichols turned me towards country music and I've been listening to it on repeat since..

Here's some more country songs I enjoyed from the radio:

"Don’t" by Billy Currington
"All I Want To Do" by Sugarland
"Home" by Blake Shelton
